Who: Sissel & OPEN
Where: The City Square
When: Early Morning
What: Black cats aren't bad luck, he promises! Sissel arrives and is very perplexed.
Warnings: Uhhh possible talk of animal death if that bothers you? Will update if needed.
Please take a look at Sissel's permissions post.
Sissel had experienced a lot in his short life. Many, many strange things that neither cat, nor dog, nor human, nor bird would have thought possible. Ever since he crossed paths with Yomiel and became that one human's friend, his life had become topsy turvy and he decided to throw all his preconceptions about life out the window.
Still.
This was thoroughly unexpected, perhaps even more so that what he had gone through. One day he is trotting alongside Missile, the next the creak of a door ignites his curiosity and he's stepping onto a beach, mesmerized by the siren call of the tower, but soon chased away by entirely way too big crustaceans.. He had run as fast as his feet could carry him--he could only possess one thing at a time, and it would have left his body completely defenseless, and so it had been his only option. No reason to get in a tussle when he didn't have to, right?
His nose had eventually led him to the city where he found a wall to perch upon as he observed his surroundings. There were many, many strange looking people around here and unease filled him. He was hungry, and his scarf was dirtied and slightly loose so despite his wariness the next time a person passed by he:
"Meow"

'No Shimmer! Cats eat rats!' the rat protested in his mind, chittering worriedly and he gave him a gentle shush as he held a freckled hand out to the beast. Cats were good creatures-- he himself could sometimes shapeshift into one (to his rat familiar's disgust), though he hadn't done so since leaving home and ending up... here.
"Aw, c'mon buddy! Bet we could find somethin' better than an ol' rat for him. Some fish or... somethin'. Hey kitty." he turned his attention to the cat again, clicking his tongue in an attempt at sounding softer. "You're awful cute, lil buddy. C'mere, I won't hurt you." the human soothed in a gentle tone, beckoning gently to the little cat in an effort to draw him closer.
The rat on his shoulder squeaked another small protest, but otherwise remained still and quiet as he peeked at Sissel curiously.

His ears flickered when the human spoke, and his eyes fell on the rat curled around his shoulders. It would be a lie to say that he didn't look a little tasty, but the black cat respected other pets. Their humans needed them, after all, they were just utterly prone into getting into all sorts of disasters.
There were a lot of words that Sissel did not understand but fish was definitely one of them, and he visibly perked at the mentioned. This human had no ill intent, of that Sissel was sure, and so he hurried up to the redhead and bumped his head against his leg.

"Hello."

While not completely ignored, most had just given Sissel a cursory look. Perhaps if he charmed them enough they could perhaps give him a little bit of food? Or if he managed to ---hold on a moment.
This person had that scent. It was one that Sissel had become well acquainted with over the years--that of someone touched by death. Contrary to what some may believe it wasn't unpleasant, but it was surprising to find it all the same. After all, those who had encountered death in some capacity were usually well. Er. Dead.
Tentatively he reached out with his mind. Would this work?
"Hello to you too!"

It was possible that this cat might receive his thoughts in return, should he project them. He would prefer that than a one sided conversation on his part, as such his next words did not leave his lips. He would see if the black cat would respond.
"I am called Yorolaie. What is your name?"
no subject
The cat bows his head a bit, a gesture he had seen many humans do when greeting one another.
Fortunately, it seemed that he was able to pick up on them without Yorolaie having to speak aloud. "My name is Sissel. Good to met you. Are you from around these parts?">/i>
no subject
"What about you? Where do you come from?" Yorolaie asked, although he had a sense that he already knew part of the answer. It was possible Sissel was local, but like so many here, he may have been drawn in from another world. Yorolaie was inclined to assume the latter.
no subject
"I believe the place I come from is called Tokyo." That's what the humans called it anyway. "You?"
no subject
"I know Tokyo," he informs the cat. Soft cat is soft. "I come from a place called Mnemosynis. It's unlikely you would have heard of it, but suffice to say it has a metaphysical connection to your world, and likely to this one too."
He looks around at the ruins as he says this. Though he still hasn't put together the full narrative of this world, he is satisfied at the rate he accumulating information. Perhaps he can help Sissel acclimatise as well. He is a fellow traveller after all.
"May I offer my assistance? I am available should there be anything I can do for you."
no subject
His ears flicker and he reopens his eyes when Yorolaie shares that he knows Tokyo. That was great! A step in the right direction. The human is right in assuming that Mnemosynis is a place unknown to the black feline but to hear that it's connected to Tokyo gives him hope.
"I would be grateful for any assistance. I have some humans I must protect back home and the sooner I can get to them, the better. Do you know how to return to Tokyo from here?"
no subject
"I don't," he answers, honest and direct. "My usual methods of travel don't work here. I believe your best course of action would be to spend as much time as you can safely allow observing the beach. On occasion, doors to other worlds appear there. It would be difficult to run through, even more so with the Tower... Providing such distraction. Not impossible, however, for someone of your agility. You may well find a pathway to Tokyo will appear."
no subject
Where are you going?
I'm coming too!
Those three thoughts changed this little doggies fate. He had watched Sissel branch off and vanish through an unknown door and decided to to scamper after him. It must be a short cut! He was very surprised when he emerged in such an unfamiliar place.
Beach! Missile LOVED the beach! It had so many fun smells and there were sticks and holes to dig and children to play with! Sometimes there were even doughnuts buried in the sand! But... This beach was very quiet. It wasn't like any beach he had ever been to. There was no doughnut smell, or any food smell at all.
There was the pretty black big thing off in the distance. The big thing was nice and he wanted to go there, but no matter how much he barked at it, it didn't seem to help him.
Sissel was no where to be found either, but Missile didn't worry about that. He could track him down with his nose! He was a Top Pomeranian after all! Managing to forget about the big black thing, at least for now, he sniffed around and eventually picked up his friends scent. Sissel had run a long way it seemed, so Missile really had to live up to his name in order to track him down. He ran over the sand, away from the danger of the Lobstroceties, all the way over the the City's outer wall.
Perhaps his friend was on the other side? Not thinking to look up (where he could have seen Sissel sitting there) Missile decided it was time to form a path of his own! He took a run up, his tail wagging excitedly as he charged at the wall as fast as he could and banged his head into the bricks.

Seeing Missile was both surprising....and entirely unsurprising. He had seen first hand what the dog could do once he set his mind to something.
Still. Best to stop him before he hurt himself.
"Missile!"
The feline hopped off the wall, landing next to their friend and put a paw on his head to dissuade him from going any further. "How did you get here?" Hopefully the Pomeranian would be able to shed a little more light one everything that was going on.
no subject
"You know what? I think this isn't the way home. I can't smell anyone we know in this place! Can you? Did you see the beach? There aren't even any ice cream or doughnut wheelie boxes!"
no subject
"No. It most certainly is not. I don't recognize anyone or anything here either. I've only been here for a couple hours and still don't fully understand where we are, but from what I've managed to pick up from conversations and the few people I could speak to it seems we aren't even in our own world anymore."
Which...needless to say, was bad.

"So what we have to figure out is how we can get back home. It's going to be a little difficult, but I'm sure that we will figure it out."
Quite frankly, after what Sissel had found out about 'Ray' the cat sincerely believed that Missile could do anything that he put his mind to.
"Have you noticed anything or heard anything on your way here that you think might help?"
no subject
"Big back thing!" He says then, hopping up and turning in a circle. He even throws in a few barks, because he can't contain them. Not when he's excited and scared all at once.
"I see the big black thing and I want to go there, even when I don't want to go there! I want to go home and take care of Miss Camilla, but... But I want the big black thing!"
